On today’s episode, we speak with Michelle Charles, Executive Director of the Canton Symphony since 2011, about navigating challenges like COVID-19, racial injustice, and the #MeToo movement, and how orchestras can drive change toward greater diversity and inclusion. Having served the CSO in roles from chorus member to board trustee, Michelle has been a key force in its growth and reputation. A summa cum laude graduate of Hiram College in Music History and Theory, she is active in the Canton community through Rotary, Leadership Stark County, and several boards, and has been recognized for her leadership, including induction into the YWCA Women’s Hall of Fame.
