Today on Orchestrating Change, Marie-Hélène Bernard discusses what it means to be a leader in orchestral music, reflecting on her experiences as a female immigrant and how they shape her approach to equity, diversity, and inclusion. She is committed to creating inclusive environments that make orchestras more representative of their communities. Bernard has served as President and CEO of the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra since 2015 and previously led the Canton Symphony, Handel and Haydn Society, and held management roles with the Cleveland and Philadelphia orchestras, beginning her career through a prestigious League of American Orchestras fellowship.
