Today’s discussion features pianist, composer, and educator Eric Gould, who shares his experiences as an African-American composer and offers insight into the history of non-white composers in orchestral music. Coming from a family of composers, Gould provides a unique perspective on what it means to navigate classical and jazz spaces as a person of color. He has performed and recorded with renowned artists including Jimmy Heath, Ron Carter, and Terri Lynne Carrington, in addition to leading his own trio across the Midwest and East Coast.
