Today on Orchestrating Change, our guest is Ryan Walks, Manager of the Talent Development Program (TDP) at the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra—a program that has supported young Black and Latino classical musicians for over twenty-five years. Trained as a trumpet player and music educator, Ryan earned all his degrees from historically Black universities before joining the ASO in 2017. After serving as the TDP’s 25th Anniversary Coordinator, he became Interim Manager in 2018 and was appointed permanent Manager in 2019. Since then, Ryan has shown exceptional leadership and dedication to the program, coordinating major events such as the TDP Recital Series, the 25th Anniversary Celebration, and the Building Bridges Symposium.
